The Christian Education program of Raeford Presbyterian Church strives to create an atmosphere of learning, and together in our faith, a Love of Jesus Christ. We do this through Sunday School, Bible Study, prayer and fellowship.

Sunday School

We have a variety of different classes to suit the needs of church members. We have a place for everyone from our youngest babies in our loving and caring nursery to our oldest members in classes designed to stretch their faith. Each class studies topics relevant to their age groups and interests driven by our aim to provide a biblically centered learning environment.

Youth Group
The youth program of Raeford Presbyterian Church aims to allow youth to join in fellowship and fun, to support and encourage one another in our Christian life. We meet to strengthen our beliefs through reflection on Scripture, outreach and sharing our faith stories. As Christians we strive to find ways to exercise our faith within the Church, the local community and the world. This mission and purpose is realized through a variety of different groups and projects.

Fun and Fellowship
Underground is a monthly junior high ministry which meets in the Fellowship Hall for recreation and fun. We have music, ping pong, air hockey, foosball and other games and activities to allow the youth of our community a safe and fun place to gather on Friday evenings.
We plan frequent fun trips like bowling, ice skating, canoe trips, mini-golf, pool parties, cook-outs, scavenger hunts, movie nights and various other outings as a time to socialize and get to know each other better.
We plan an annual ski trip for students in 8th grade and older.

Music Program

The Raeford Presbyterian Church music program offers a variety of opportunities to "make a joyful noise" as we offer our time and talents in Christian service! We currently have three vocal choirs and two handbell choirs.

The Sanctuary Choir is for adults college age and up who are interested in singing sacred choral music of various styles. We sing for the 11:00 a.m. service on Sundays and for several special seasonal services and programs, including a Christmas concert, special Easter music, and good old-fashioned ice cream social in the summer. Music reading is not required; just come and enjoy the good music and fellowship on Wednesday nights.

The Youth Choir consists of interested youth in Middle School and High School. We sing for several services throughout the year, including Christmas musical and a spring program for our annual Dinner Theatre, which serves as a youth fundraiser.

Our Children's Choir is for all interested children in grades Kindergarten through 5. We rehearse on Wednesday afternoons and sing for several Sunday morning worship services throughout the year. We present a Christmas musical and spring musical each year.

The Ladies' Handbell Choir is for any interested adults - it doesn't have to remain just a "ladies" choir, if any men are interested! We rehearse on Wednesday evenings and play for several morning worship services throughout the year from September through April. Some music-reading ability is preferred, but NOT required.

The Youth Handbell Choir is for interested Middle School and High School ringers. We rehearse on Sunday evenings and play for several services throughout the year. We also attend a Handbell Festival in the fall or spring of the year.

We also have a male quartet, The Big Brick Quartet which consists of Steve Phillips, tenor, William Davis, lead, Bobby McBryde, baratone, Julian Johnson, bass, Miriam McNeill, accompanist, who sing on occasion for morning worship or other church events. This coming year, we plan to feature an eight member vocal ensemble who will present special music throughout the year. There are also opportunities for soloists to perform and we host guest performers throughout the church year.

The Music Staff consists of Miriam Ropp McNeill, Director of Music; Nancy R. McNeill, Organist; and Harriett McDonald, Children's Choir accompanist.
